AIR program details
The Kimball Arts Center Artists in Residence program is a platform for both emerging and established Chicago artists to exhibit, sell and produce new works within our multidisciplinary building. AIR fosters collaboration, resource sharing and accessible art collecting amongst the creative community of Chicago.

The Artists in Residence program at the Kimball Arts Center is for any emerging or established artist based in Chicago looking to expand their creative network, production resources and exhibition experience within the city.
As a young and largely collaborative residency, we encourage artists who are committed to collective learning, sharing and growing to apply!
We accept any exhibition ready work that can be displayed within the public hallways of the building.
We accept up to 3 artists at a time.

Public Exhibition Space to show and sell work
Shared Studio Space to create new work and host studio visits
Public Event & Workshop Opportunities
Production of Archival Prints of Artists work in our AIR Print Shop
KAC Community Studio Visits
Opening Reception / Optional Artist Talk
$250 Stipend
Complimentary artist portraits with photographer, Clayton Hauck.

Maddy, the AIR Director, will guide curation along with interested members of the KAC community to select the next cohort of artists.
